The creations exhibited on this occasion mostly have been created during:

Artistic residencies
In November 2019, Rencontres Audiovisuelles welcomed about 15 artists in Arenberg Creative Mine, during a creation residency bringing together video mapping, animation and digital artists, researchers etc. in order to produce the original works that will be presented during the Opening night.
Furthermore, an invitation to participate in this residency was sent to artists from the film and animation industries (Marc Caro, Franck Dion, Sébastien Laudenbach, Bill Plympton), who present their very first mapping creation in Lille!
The artists have then worked remotely while receiving an artistic and technical support.
+ Meeting with the artists of the video mapping tour on Saturday 4th of April, to immerse yourself into the creations backstages.

Production from video mapping studios
The Video Mapping Festival will also present some works created by well-known mapping studios (Limelight, Loom Prod) during its video mapping tour.

Workshops
From Sunday 29th to Wednesday 1st of April, around 60 students from European animation and video game schools will participate in creative challenges: produce together, in 4 days, a creation that will be displayed on the War Memorial on the Rihour Square during the Opening Night.
Discover also a micro mapping on the UGC Ciné Cité created by students during a workshop led between December and March as part of the Research and Creation Workshops of the École Supérieure d’Art & de Communication of Cambrai.

Educational workshops
From January to March, workshops are taking place in several organisations of the conurbation of Lille: children or teenagers begin to learn about video mapping and produce within a few days works that will be presented during the Festival. Come and discover their work at the Hospice Comtesse Museum!

All the creations will be screened on a loop from 9 pm to 1 am.

For security reasons, backpacks or suitcases cannot and will not be accepted in certain locations of the Festival, and there will be no cloakrooms. It is thus recommended that you do not come to the Festival with bigger personal bags than small backpacks or handbags.

Caution: for some indoor locations the number of people we can let in is limited, a waiting line is thus possible.
